Marine Life Viewed from 5.8 Undersea Restaurant
Hurawalhi Maldives is the place where dreams can come true – especially if you’ve dreamed of diving on coral reefs amongst colourful tropical fish, or dining under the sea…or a combination of the two! Lunch or dinner at Hurawalhi’s 5.8 Undersea Restaurant comes with an incredible view of the marine life that the Maldives is so well known for. The world’s largest all-glass underwater restaurant is a treat for the eyes as well as the tastebuds.
The glass is all that separates you from the vividly coloured parrotfish, angelfish and surgeon fish swimming around the coral blocks; watch clownfish and damselfish as they defend their territories from anything that gets too close. Shoals of oriental sweetlips and snappers hang out in the current, moving as one while a dazzling display is often created by large numbers of fusiliers as they dart above the glass ceiling, especially when being hunted by trevally. Look out for the black tip reef shark and moraly eels too. Occasional visitors to the reef outside 5.8 are eagle rays, stingrays, grey reef sharks and turtles.
Experience exquisite culinary masterpieces and the incredible marine life of the Maldives at the same time – that’s two bucket list ticks in one! As Undersea restaurant seats just 10 couples, we recommend making a reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.
